NEW YORK (July 16, 2025) - Perkins Coie is pleased to have acted as legal counsel to Folk Productions, the Tony Award-winning production team behind “Second Acts Live,” a new live series hosted by two-time WNBA All-Star and sports analyst Chiney Ogwumike, featuring legendary sports figures as they share untold stories of how their sports careers evolved into powerful second chapters. The innovative format fuses sports and theater, borrowing from the best of both to create something original.

The inaugural show from Front Office Sports and Folk Productions will take place in Seattle in September and feature WNBA Hall of Famer Sue Bird, who is transforming into one of the architects of the growth of women’s sports. Additional shows this year will include Adrian Wojnarowski in Philadelphia in October, exploring his transition from breaking news to shaping the landscape of a new era of college athletics. And in December, four-time Pro Bowler and transcendent quarterback Michael Vick will take the stage in Atlanta to discuss the multiple acts that led him to leadership at one of the country’s preeminent HBCUs. Plans call for a multi-city tour in 2026 that will include New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

The Perkins Coie Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) advisory team guided Folk Productions on general corporate, commercial and intellectual property (IP) matters related to the launch of the live shows. This included negotiating the licensing of the Second Acts Live IP, ownership and use of derivative works, equity arrangements, and talent agreements

The firm’s team was led by partners Eitan Hoenig, Sonia Farber, and included counsel Alicia Matusheski, as well as associates Michelle Nguyen and Nike Anders
