We work across a broad range of commercial areas: corporate, construction, disputes, employment, financial services, IP, projects, planning and environment, real estate, and technology. Whatever your focus, there's a place for you here.
Please visit the Reach page for more information.

Pro bono at Ashurst Perkins Coie is a standalone legal practice. We hold our pro bono work to the same high standards of quality, service, and care as we do for any other client, and our efforts drive tangible outcomes that make a real difference.
From time to time, we recruit qualified lawyers to our dedicated pro bono team to work solely on pro bono matters, including liaising directly with clients and engaging other internal lawyers to provide support.
Please keep an eye on our vacancies page for when roles arise.
From time to time, our offices hire paralegals. The specifics of the role depend on the location and the team you're working for, but, in most instances, you will work closely with the practice group and any fellow paralegals on transactions, disputes, or projects.
Depending on the role, we usually look for people with legal training or experience, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and work with the team to meet deadlines. You must have strong organizational and communication skills.

We represent hundreds of pro bono clients annually. Every day, we partner with nonprofit and community-based organizations to advocate for people who are internally displaced, stateless, seeking asylum, or have refugee status; champion human and civil rights; and fight for housing, education, food, benefits, and economic justice for individuals in our communities. We actively encourage all our lawyers to engage in pro bono practice and we provide the same level of value and support for pro bono work as we do for any other client matter. Our pro bono program is highly regarded in the legal community for its dedication to providing legal assistance to people and organizations with limited resources in our local communities. We regularly tackle complex cases that affect the most vulnerable clients and we also address wider systemic issues.
Through our pro bono work, we continue to amplify our clients' stories, change lives, and transform communities.

Testimonials

"As a projects lawyer at Ashurst Perkins Coie, I get to work on the most complex and city-shaping projects. I find it satisfying seeing my work turn into roads, metro stations, hospitals, airports, wind and solar farms, etc. that get used by, and benefit, our communities. Lawyers in our team get "stretched" if they are willing, while senior lawyers are hands-on and will proactively make sure junior lawyers get enough guidance and support. Our people are down-to-earth, genuine and practical. While we take our work very seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously. Hearing laughter from a few desks away is a constant occurrence, and we work to create a relaxed and collegiate environment that promotes collaboration between colleagues and across offices."
Peitian Xia, Senior Associate, Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources, Sydney
"Since beginning my career, I have worked in a number of jurisdictions throughout Asia Pacific, which has taught me to appreciate the importance of working within a cohesive global team, particularly within my specific area of practice, international arbitration. Working at Ashurst Perkins Coie offers precisely that. Since joining the firm in May 2022, I have had the opportunity to work with colleagues across various offices on multijurisdictional matters, splitting my time between Singapore and Hong Kong. There is a true collaborative culture, where the best idea always wins, and where everyone works together to win the most interesting work and deliver great results for our clients."
Sylvia Tee, Counsel, Complex Litigation, Hong Kong / Singapore
