Introduction

Tim focuses on corporate lending, working with both financial institutions and corporate borrowers on acquisition financings (both public and private), corporate facilities and other secured and unsecured lending transactions.

Tim Rennie is a key industry leader in the market, reflected in him being the top ranked lawyer in EMEA by Mergerlinks in FY2024 through the advice he provides to financial advisers on UK public to privates. He has particular experience in acting for all stakeholders, including financial advisers, on public M&A financings. His experience includes working on debut and refinanced bilateral and syndicated facilities in both the domestic and international arena.

Tim is at the forefront of recent market developments, having acted for a major UK bank on the first three SONIA loans in the market and been heavily involved in IBOR transition work since then, including during 2019/2020 when Tim was a member of the FCA's Taskforce on Tough Legacy contracts.

Tim has also been involved in numerous transactions referencing Environmental, Social and Governance targets over the last few years.

Outside of legal practice, Tim is heavily involved in a number of the firm's key business initiatives, including Ashurst Perkin Coie's London LGBTI+ group, Spectrum.
