Overview
Introduction
Nick brings a rare combination of experience spanning technology and cyber disputes, media law, and intellectual property, enabling him to advise and litigate across the full spectrum of issues that arise in the digital economy.
Nick Perkins has experience acting in complex tech disputes for customer and supplier clients covering a variety of technologies and legal issues including breach of contract, misleading or deceptive conduct and copyright infringement. He also advises clients in relation to cyber incidents, including a number of recent major data breaches.
Nick acts in all forms of media disputes, law reform and regulatory issues, including for digital platforms, digital content providers, traditional media and non-media clients. He has experience advising on and litigating a wide range of defamation and injurious falsehood claims and recently acted in Federal Court proceedings relating to the enforcement of a removal notice under the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth).
In his IP practice, Nick advises clients on various IP issues, with a particular focus on copyright, trade mark and consumer law. He has acted in a number of recent Federal Court matters, including several urgent interlocutory injunction applications, and regularly advises clients on strategic IP and brand protection issues.
