Overview
Introduction
Justin counsels clients on compliance strategies for the development, deployment, and use of AI, machine learning , and computer vision technologies.
Justin Potesta advises companies on biometric privacy, model training and deployment, and AI governance, including matters arising under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and laws governing AI, such as the Colorado AI Act. He counsels clients that use AI and machine learning for identity verification, content generation and moderation, data analysis, and audio transcription and translation. He also counsels clients on financial privacy and consumer protection issues, primarily those involving consumer reporting and risk scoring under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In this area, his clients include fintech companies, background check providers, consumer reporting agencies, and digital asset and blockchain companies.
Justin also defends clients in class-action litigation involving a range of privacy issues. He also has experience representing clients facing regulatory investigations by the FTC, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and state attorneys general.
