Introduction

José Antonio combines his distinguished State Lawyer background with formidable strength in litigation, arbitration and restructuring disputes.

José Antonio Rodríguez is a partner in our dispute resolution practice in Madrid. José Antonio advises on complex litigation, arbitration and restructuring disputes, with particular experience in financial, energy, infrastructure, real estate, insurance, sports and corporate disputes.

José Antonio advises leading financial institutions, corporates and regulated-sector clients in pre-litigious matters, court proceedings and commercial arbitration. His work includes corporate and contractual disputes, competition damages claims, energy and infrastructure disputes, product liability, insurance and political risk disputes, and procedural issues arising in cross-border litigation and arbitration.

Before joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, José Antonio practiced as a State Lawyer before the High Court of Madrid, representing and defending the Spanish Government and public entities across all jurisdictions. He also served as a State Lawyer in the General Directorate of Insurance of the Ministry of Economy, where he was actively involved in the drafting of important insurance-sector rules and regulations.
