Introduction

John advises clients on IP, information technology, and data privacy issues in standalone commercial transactions and in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

John Schoppert drafts and negotiates complex IP, technology, and commercial agreements across a range of matters. These include IP development agreements, patent, trademark and copyright licenses and assignment agreements, hosted services agreements, software and professional services agreements, online services and digital products terms of use, reseller agreements, and supply and distribution agreements. 

John has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential as a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He counsels private-sector clients on the legal risks associated with data-related practices and prepares data processing agreements, business associate agreements, and other privacy agreements.
