Introduction
Jan helps clients achieve successful outcomes in private equity, M&A and corporate transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional deals.
Jan Krekeler has extensive experience in private M&A and private equity transactions in both national as well as cross border contexts and all related matters, including management participation schemes.
He advises German and international clients on acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, distressed M&A and carve-outs with particular experience in the new economy and life sciences sectors as well as with regard to real estate transactions.
In addition to the corporate law aspects of his work, Jan regularly advises on commercial law matters.
Prior to joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, he worked in another leading international law firm.

- US Commercial Real Estate Company | 2024 | Advisory to a listed US commercial real estate company on the establishment of a joint venture in the form of a GmbH & Co KG as majority shareholder.
- HIH | 2024 | Advisory to HIH on the joint venture with Vonovia and Quarterback Immobilien AG regarding a residential portfolio (total rental area of over 127,000 sqm) .
- Leipzig/Erfurt | 2023–2024 | Advisory to Panattoni and JV partner J.P. Morgan on the acquisition and subsequent development (including leasing) of three logistics projects near Leipzig and Erfurt.
- Global Alternative Asset Management Firm | 2023 – 2024 | Acquisition of German retailer of motorcycle goods from Equistone a private equity firm.
- International Investment Manager | 2023 – 2024 | Acquisition of Gesellschaft für Praxisnachfolge in der Zahnmedizin (including hospital and 24 dental practices) from GIMV.
- Kajima Properties / Panattoni – Logistics JV Magdeburg | 2023–2024 | Advisory on the joint venture with Panattoni and acquisition of a logistics project development in Magdeburg.
- Kajima Properties / Panattoni – Logistics JV Southern Germany | 2023 | Advisory on the joint venture with Panattoni and acquisition (including leasing) of a prominent logistics property development in Southern Germany.
- PELV Fund / Panattoni – Herleshausen | 2023 | Advisory on the acquisition and development of a 166,000 sqm logistics project in Herleshausen via a joint venture structure, involving teams from Frankfurt, London, and Luxembourg.
- Well-known international financial investor/ EMVIA Living | 2023 | Advisory to a well-known financial investor on the acquisition of EMVIA Living, one of Germany's largest nursing home operators, from Chequers. Closing in July 2023.
- Apollo / Vacuumschmelze | 2023 | Advisory (local counsel to Paul Weiss) to Apollo on the sale of the Vacuumschmelze Group to ARA Partners. Closing in October 2023.
