Introduction

Irian delivers sharp, commercially focused counsel across project finance, real estate lending, and energy transition transactions in Spain.

Irian Martinez is a Head of global markets in Spain and a partner in the Banking and Finance team. She is well-versed in banking and finance transactions with a focus in project finance, real estate and corporate lending. Irian also has experience in derivatives and synthetic PPAs.

In the last 12 months Irian has advised on several biomethane projects, on a couple of hybridization financings and on BESS power optimization products. She has also led a holdco refinancing for a big RE client and several development and acquisition transactions for shopping centers and BTR platforms in Spain. Irian's clients include infrastructure funds, institutional investors, financial institutions and funds and corporates.

Verdalia Bioenergy Limited on a €671 million corporate financing for their biomethane projects in Spain and Italy, one of the largest biomethane financing operations in Europe.
Equitix on €271 million hybrid renewable energy system financing with Banco Santander.
An International Bank on the first project finance transaction for the development of a biomethane plant in Spain.
Culmia (Oaktree) on a Holdco loan financing €100 million for their built to rent platform.
BBVA on the financing of certain BESS (LDES) type of facilities with Malta.
Henderson Park in the financing of the Isla Azul shopping center.
Lighthouse Properties on the financing of several shopping centers across the Iberian peninsula.
Acciona on its first sustainable financing backed by Chinese export credit agency.
A leading Spanish bank on their initial PPA desk trading including negotiation of the supporting documents and required legal opinions.
