    Perkins Coie Maintains Top Ranking in Patent Litigation and Post-Grant Practices by Lex Machina

    SEATTLE (June 12, 2025)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by Lex Machina in its annual Patent Litigation Report for being one of the most active law firms for patent litigation and post-grant work in the United States. 

    Of the national law firms hired the most for patent defense cases, Perkins Coie ranked third, with 192 cases across 30 jurisdictions from 2022 to 2024. This is the fifth year in a row Perkins Coie has achieved this placement. The firm was also ranked sixth on the list of most active firms based on the number of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) petitions filed during this period. 

    Lex Machina’s Patent Litigation Report summarizes federal district court data from the past decade and post-grant data since the PTAB’s inception in 2012. The report also identifies key patent litigation trends that have emerged in the last year.
