Xiaozheng has extensive experience acting for sponsors and corporates, with particular strength in cross-border transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and complex investment structures. He has acted on a range of transactions, including LBOs, minority deals, co-investments, strategic investments and growth transactions throughout Asia across various industry sectors, including technology, manufacturing, FMCG, real estate, logistics, healthcare, business services, financial services, the digital economy and hospitality.

Xiaozheng is also a key member of Ashurst's high growth venture capital team, with deep subject matter experience  advising on the full life-cycle of the investment process from due diligence, term sheet negotiation, seed funding, Series A & B investments, eventually through to exit.

Xiaozheng has been recognized as a Notable Practitioner by IFLR1000 for his work in Corporate and M&A. In The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2026, a client describes him as “the one you want on speed dial” and “the engine that keeps complex cross-border work on track”, noting his “energy, precision and uncanny ability to read the deal”.  Prior to joining Ashurst, Xiaozheng was a partner at a leading Southeast Asia-based law firm. He also has experience working in Myanmar and Hong Kong.
