Tilmann Hertel is a commercial litigator, advising and representing clients in domestic and cross-border disputes. He specifically focuses on banks and financial service disputes as well as corporate litigation, representing banks, financial investors, funds, and fintech's, amongst others. He also represents clients in arbitration proceedings. 

Tilmann has been recognized in Handelsblatt and Best Lawyers™ as one of the best lawyers in Germany for Litigation as part of the Germany's Best Lawyers since 2024. He has further been recognized as top litigator by Wirtschaftswoche in 2022, 2023, and 2025.

He studied law at Frankfurt University, Université Paris Nanterre, and at the University of Edinburgh (LL.M.). He was admitted to practice in Germany in 2010. Prior to joining Ashurst Perkins Coie in 2021, he worked in the Frankfurt office of another international law firm.
