Paul is Global Co-CEO of Ashurst Perkin Coie
As Global Co-CEOs, Paul and Bill Malley lead Ashurst Perkins Coie.
Paul and Bill lead the firm's Global Leadership Team, and are both members of the firm's Global Board.
He has been a partner since 2006 and was Global CEO of Ashurst from June 2016 until it combined with Perkins Coie at the end of June 2026. Paul has been appointed Co-CEO of Ashurst Perkins Coie for a term of four years to July 2030.
Paul led Ashurst's global Finance Division prior to his appointment as Ashurst's Global CEO. In late 2022, he was reappointed as Ashurst's Global CEO for a further four-year term.
Under Paul's leadership, Ashurst experienced significant growth, with an average revenue growth of 9% and an average profitability growth of 10% each year over a ten-year period.
His leadership has been characterized as providing clear vision and strategic direction for the firm, supplemented by disciplined implementation.
Paul has consistently promoted the benefits of collaboration, innovation and inclusion in his time as CEO.
He is proud to have joined one of Ashurst Perkins Coie's predecessor firms, Blake Dawson, as a graduate.
His successful legal practice has encompassed banking, corporate finance, debt capital markets and securitisation. He is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and NSW, and has practised as a finance lawyer in London, Tokyo and Sydney.
