Patrick Boyle is a trusted advisor on infrastructure and energy projects and project financing, with particular experience of EfW and biomass financings.

His clients include the UK Government, funders, sponsors and contractors. In the last 12 months, Patrick has advised on nationally significant projects including the funding by the National Wealth Fund for the UK Government contract for UK's first small modular reactor contract with Rolls-Royce SMR and the first carbon capture and storage project for an EfW facility at the Protos site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

  • Encyclis Limited | 2023 – ongoing | As sponsor on the £600 million project financing of an energy-from-waste facility situated in Walsall.
  • MUFG, SMBC and Natwest | 2022 – ongoing | On their lending to a joint venture between Hitachi and FirstGroup, a partnership which will allow for the purchase of up to 1,000 electric bus batteries for the First Group fleet.
  • SMBC/Equitix | 2022 – ongoing | As owners on the asset financing of their Wales and Borders rolling stock fleets.
  • Meridiam/FCC | 2020 | On the £550 million financing of the A465 Heads of the Valleys MIM project in Wales.
  • Equitix/PIP/AMEY | 2022 | Refinancing of Sheffield Highways PPP project.
  • Pension Insurance Corporation | 2021 | In relation to its loan to the Equitix/Engie consortium of the University of Birmingham accommodation project.
  • Assured Guaranty | 2019 | As guarantor of £125 million of index linked bonds issued in respect of the University of Leicester Student Accommodation Project.
