Introduction
Nicholas has significant experience in advising banks and corporate clients on a wide range of international and domestic finance transactions.
Nicholas has a particular focus on investment grade syndicated and bilateral loan financing transactions, including event-driven financings.
He has acted for both the arrangers on financings as well as for borrowers on a variety of jumbo financing arrangements across multiple jurisdictions.
Nicholas has acted on a number of sustainable finance transactions and is at the forefront of LIBOR transition developments, having acted on debut SONIA, SOFR and IBOR rate switch loan facilities for both arrangers and borrowers.
Nicholas has spent significant periods of his career on client secondments at leading domestic and multinational banks and companies.
- A syndicate of three leading European banks | Advised the mandated lead arrangers on EUR800m syndicated term and revolving loan facilities and €520m syndicated revolving facilities for GN Nord A/S.
- Halma plc | Advised on a combined £550m syndicated revolving credit facility and £330m private placement refinancing.
- The syndicate of lenders | Advised on a debut EUR300m syndicated revolving loan facility for Theon International plc
- A leading British and a leading Dutch bank | Advised as coordinators of the new £400m revolving credit facility for Safestore Holding plc.
- Diploma plc | Advised on a £555m syndicated revolving credit facility.
- Intermediate Capital Group PLC | Advised on a new sustainability linked revolving credit facility for general corporate purposes of the group. The facility incorporates LIBOR "rate switch" mechanics for sterling and US dollars, to cater for LIBOR transition.
- Two large British banks | Advised in relation to a debut syndicated £100m revolving credit facility for the FTSE 250 bakery food manufacturer and on-the-go retailer, Greggs plc.
- The syndicate of lenders | Advised in relation to raising various syndicated facilities for Applegreen, a major petrol forecourt retailer headquartered in Ireland, to support its acquisition of a majority stake in Welcome Break and its subsequent investment in Empire State Thruway Partners.
- The syndicate of lenders | Advised in relation to a £600m syndicated revolving credit facility for Babcock International plc.
- Tritax Big Box REIT plc | Advised on syndicated revolving facilities totaling £900m, a £150m bilateral facility and a £650m acquisition bridge facility to support the acquisition of a £1bn logistics portfolio from Blackstone.
