Introduction
Max is a competition litigator with over a decade of experience representing claimants and defendants in high-stakes damages claims and class actions relating to cartel behavior and abuse of dominance.
Max Strasberg has acted in major cartel litigation relating to Auto Parts, PU Foam, High Voltage Power Cables, Interchange Fees, Trucks and Maritime Car Shipping, as well as several standalone abuse of dominance claims and class actions.
Most recently, Max has represented Telefonica in the 'Loyalty Penalty' class action and class representative Clare Spottiswoode in a class action against Motorola concerning the 'Airwave' emergency services communications network.
- Telefonica (Virgin Media O2) in its defense of collective proceedings brought against the four UK mobile network operators for alleged abuse of dominant positions in the supply of combined handset and airtime contracts.
- Clare Spottiswoode CBE as the Class Representative in collective proceedings on behalf of users of the Airwave emergency services telecommunications network in Great Britain for alleged abuse of a dominant position by Motorola.
- A leading car dealership in collective proceedings arising from the Maritime Shipping (RoRo) cartel.
- Ryder in the largest individual follow-on damages claim in the UK Trucks litigation (arising from two decisions of the European Commission).
- Pirelli in the defense of several parallel follow-on damages claims arising from the Power Cables cartel.
- Several third parties involved in the Interchange Fee proceedings.
