Matthew is a partner at Ashurst Perkins Coie's finance, funds and restructuring practice, and co-heads our London Securitization, Specialty Finance and Transfer of Asset Risk (SSTAR) Practice.

Matthew Pentecost has a broad structured finance practice, and has particular experience in the specialist lending markets. Matt advises across all types of funding lines and balance sheet solutions, and with experience in a broad range of asset classes, regulated and unregulated, and advises at all levels of the capital stack. 

He is recognized as a leading lawyer in the specialty finance sector and delivers strategic and commercial advice alongside conventional transactional advice. He has acted on some of the most innovative transactions in the market, regularly advising on high-quality, complex transactions and demonstrating a consistent ability to deliver pragmatic, deal-focused advice.

Matt speaks at industry events, including at the Deal Catalyst Specialist Lender Conference, Global ABS and the JP Morgan Specialist Lending Conference.

  • Beka Credit as investment advisor and other Beka Credit related entities in the Beka group in respect of its structured financings to and the fund formation for the Alameda fund. The Alameda fund is a €200 million renewable debt strategy focused on financing solutions for small and medium-sized sustainable energy projects in Spain.
  • Signature Property Finance on its inaugural private securitization warehouse facility with Santander Corporate & Investment Banking as noteholder unlocking £250 million of lending.
  • Reward Finance Group (Reward Funding) on a series of simultaneous transactions, including an inaugural private securitization provided by an international investment bank as noteholder, a senior warehouse facility provided by Quilam Capital as lender, and concurrent further refinancings, committing £360 million together with a series of corporate reorganizations.
  • My CashLine as originator on its senior secured funding lines from a leading private credit institution.
  • Pollen Street Capital in its capacity as noteholder on a world-first securitization for Ferovinum, a leading financial technology platform focused on the wine and spirits sector.
  • Pollen Street Capital in in its capacity as senior lender £300 million senior secured facility, to SRE Capital, a UK-based funder of renewable energy solutions, both on and off-site; and
  • MT Finance on all their funding lines, including forward flows with top tier asset managers, a £500 million securitization with JP Morgan, warehouses and an MBO.
