Introduction
Laura advises clients on a wide range of high-profile property and infrastructure projects, including mixed use precincts, transport projects and the stakeholder aspects of major projects.
Laura Hillhouse is a partner in the Ashurst Perkins Coie's Abu Dhabi projects team. Laura has over a decade of experience advising on large scale property development and major infrastructure projects across both Australia and the Middle East.
Laura's experience includes advising on project delivery models and procurement strategies as well as procurement documentation for major infrastructure projects and large-scale mixed use precinct developments (including all types of construction contracts, project development agreements and divestment contracts).
- Infrastructure NSW | 2026 | Advising Infrastructure NSW on the redevelopment of Blackwattle Bay, a mixed-use precinct on Sydney Harbour, including transaction structuring, procurement and project development agreements for the multi-stage development.
- Qiddiya Investment Company | 2025 – ongoing | Advising Qiddiya Investment Company on the Vertical Links Network project, Grand Central Station procurement, Q-Express High Speed Rail and Qiddiya-wide interface agreements.
- Sydney Metro | 2015 – 2025 | Advising on the A$12 billion Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project, including on the integrated station developments at Victoria Cross, Pitt Street and Waterloo, the over station developments at Crows Nest, the construct only contracts for the Southwest Metro stations (9 new Metro stations) and the acquisition strategy for the above-ground properties required to deliver the project.
- Homes NSW | 2025 | Advising Homes NSW on the Waterloo Estate renewal development, a 30 year staged residential development for built-to-sell, built-to-rent, social and affordable housing.
- Transport for NSW | 2022 | Advising on the Main Works Contract for the A$14 billion Western Harbour Tunnel project.
- A government department | 2018 | Advising in the assessment of an unsolicited proposal submitted for the Martin Place integrated station development, including the negotiation and finalisation of the Station Delivery Deed and Project Delivery Agreement for construction of the Martin Place Metro Station and the development of two commercial towers and retail centres integrated into the station.
- Sydney Motorway Corporation | 2015 – 2022 | Advised on Stages 1, 2 and 3 of the A$16.8 billion WestConnex Motorway Project, including on the acquisition requirements for the WestConnex road project, including defining the underground and above ground boundaries of the leased premises and the long term lease arrangements.
