Laia Bertran Manye

Laia Bertran Manye represents major multinational companies across diverse sectors on complex data, digital, and AI regulatory frameworks, including the European Union AI Act, the EU and United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the EU Digital Services Act. Her experience includes counseling a global technology company on AI Act compliance, guiding an international vehicle manufacturer on cross-border data protection practices, and advising a global financial institution on data localization requirements. She also has experience with online children’s data protection. 

Laia spent several years in data protection and privacy before broadening her work to include AI and digital regulation. Her work centered on GDPR compliance projects, including the development of international data transfer arrangements, data protection impact assessments, and records of processing activities.  

Her earlier career included litigation work in one of Spain’s top law firms, where she worked with domestic and international clients in civil and trademark disputes and bankruptcy proceedings. 

Laia has completed secondments with an international technology and online retail corporation, as well as with a multinational bank. She mentors junior colleagues and plays an active role in diversity and inclusion initiatives, including programs that support working parents.
