Introduction

Kermesha represents clients in an array of legal disputes, including matters involving taxation, labor and employment, and eDiscovery.

Kermesha L. Carter focuses her practice on labor and employment matters, eDiscovery, and substantive litigation support. She regularly performs associate-level work, including legal research, due diligence investigations, drafting memoranda and pleadings, constructing settlement agreements, and conducting claimant interviews, including recent adverse claimant arbitration conference interviews for a mass privacy matter.

With more than 20 years of legal experience, Kermesha handles all phases of document review, including first-level, second-level, and privilege reviews, as well as privilege log creation. She has completed reviews across several practice areas, including bankruptcy, labor and employment, intellectual property, real estate transactions, taxation, health care, and product liability, and is proficient with eDiscovery platforms, including Relativity.

Kermesha also has substantial experience with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters, having conducted more than 200 EEO investigations. She has managed recurring litigation research projects and key witness deposition investigations that helped counsel develop litigation strategy in a product liability class-action matter. Clients and colleagues value her ability to design efficient review processes that help manage high volumes of data and create cohesive data sets.

Before joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, Kermesha served as an employment investigator for a state fair employment practices agency. She also worked as a tax lawyer for a tax resolution firm, where she prepared tax returns and represented individual clients in audit and deficiency matters before the IRS.
