Kellie Hairsine has a particular focus on the infrastructure and resources sectors in relation to project developments, tenure and property. She has played a key role in resolving and acquiring tenure for a number of large projects including complexities associated with non-freehold land.

Kellie also has extensive experience in the issues unique to transport land, electricity infrastructure and resources projects. She is known for her flexible and agile approach to general property matters.

  • Queensland Government | Lead lawyer | Ongoing | Advised various Queensland Government Departments on property related issues including voluntary and compulsory acquisition of freehold land for government expansion requirements.
  • Gas companies | Lead partner | Ongoing | Advising on the negotiation of easements for gas pipelines and cathodic protection systems across Queensland and New South Wales.
  • New South Wales Electricity Transmission Network Privatizations part of the Ashurst team advising successful consortiums on the $15+ billion bid for Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy. Undertaking due diligence on assets with over 40,000 property interests, advising on the transaction structure and documents including the long term lease for the asset and the legislative framework underpinning the transaction and the operation of the electricity transmission network.
  • Solar Farm Client | Lead partner | Ongoing | Negotiating the acquisition by way of option to lease and option to purchase land for the development of a large portfolio of solar farms nationally. Part of the Ashurst team advising on the portfolio financing for the development of the solar farms. Advising the acquisition of several projects in the solar sector across Australia.
