Katy’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, with disputes involving securities laws, regulatory issues, and government investigations.

Katy Pokorny has experience across various phases of litigation, including pleadings and discovery. Katy regularly attends conferences focusing on securities laws and writes updates related to emerging trends in this space.

In her pro bono practice, Katy has volunteered as a guardian ad litem with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and also represents criminal defendants charged criminally in federal court.

During law school, Katy externed for the Hon. Ronald F. Bartkowicz in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, where she drafted legal memorandums and court opinions. Additionally, Katy was a summer associate at Perkins Coie in 2022.

Prior to law school, she was a project associate at a research center that was established to support the U.S. Department of Defense and is dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge with a particular focus on the U.S. military population.
