Introduction
Justin counsels clients at the intersection of emerging technologies and the law.
Justin L. Moon helps the world’s largest technology companies and Fortune 100 clients on complex, business critical legal issues, with a particular focus on the legal, commercial, and practical implications of generative and agentic AI. His work spans IP, product development, contracting, governance, and the rapidly evolving regulatory and ethical frameworks shaping AI deployment.
Justin regularly counsels clients on digital transformation and cloud-based business models across the technology stack—from infrastructure to application-layer services. He has extensive experience supporting product launches and scaling connected technologies, including smart city infrastructure, smart home solutions, and platform and mobile applications, and addressing the contractual and regulatory challenges associated with those offerings.
Justin structures and negotiates complex technology and commercial transactions, including licensing, outsourcing, and professional services arrangements. His practice also covers enterprise and consumer software; cloud and platform services; and the development, use, and distribution of open-source software.
In his pro bono practice, Justin advises nonprofit organizations on formation, tax-exempt status, and commercial matters. He also serves on the board of Third Stone, the nonprofit organization behind Bumbershoot, Seattle’s iconic arts and music festival.
