Justin secures patent rights and provides strategic counsel on various IP matters for clients.

Justin Cho represents a wide range of technology companies—from startups to large international corporations—in developing patent portfolios, analyzing competitor IP, and assessing leverage and risk. He uses his knowledge to add value to clients’ businesses across diverse industries, including medical devices, clean tech, semiconductors, aerospace, and energy systems. 

In the medical device sector, Justin has worked on innovations in cardiology, ophthalmology, spinal surgery, diabetes diagnosis, and cancer treatment. His clean tech experience includes metallurgical-grade coke production, alternative cement binders, carbon capture, hydrogen fuel, and nuclear generators. In the aerospace sector, Justin has worked on rocket engines, aerodynamic fuselages, supersonic aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles. 

Prior to joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, Justin externed at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and provided pro bono legal services through Harvard Law School’s Transactional Law Clinics.
