Introduction
Harriet is a very experienced dispute resolution partner who acts for clients in high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration.
Harriet Jones-Fenleigh focuses on complex commercial disputes and banking and finance litigation and arbitration.
She has over 17 years' experience in helping clients to navigate a wide range of high-stakes litigation and arbitration matters, including multi-billion pound litigation in the UK Supreme Court, group claims, cross-border corporate and commercial disputes, civil fraud and asset tracing. Many of the cases on which she works involve reputational risks, disputes in multiple jurisdictions and parallel investigations. She also has experience acting in arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL rules, among others.
Harriet acts for corporates, banks, funds, and corporate trustees and across a variety of sectors, including finance, fintech and tech, metals, mining, commodities, aviation and energy.
Harriet is recommended in Chambers UK 2026 and Legal 500 UK 2026 for commercial litigation, banking litigation and civil fraud, where she is described as "clever, hardworking, great judgment, pleasure to work with. A top choice" and "a standout individual" with "great expertise, great judgment, and is great at running a team".
Harriet is qualified in England and Wales as a barrister and previously practiced as a barrister at Fountain Court Chambers for over five years.
- Acting for a UK plc on the defense of a class action following a cyber-attack which resulted in a data breach
- Acting for a note trustee in US$3 billion+ bond enforcement proceedings in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court*
- Acting in High Court proceedings in a dispute over ownership and control of an aluminum smelter*
- Acting for the buyer of a metals business in LCIA arbitration proceedings in respect of an SPA dispute*
- Acting for a sovereign state and central bank in Commercial Court civil fraud proceedings to freeze and recover over US$500 million*
- Advising shareholders on a joint venture dispute in respect of a renewable energy project
- Advising lenders on a dispute over the security valuation of a real estate asset
