In the privacy and data space, Geoff advises on, as well as data breach response strategy, notification obligations, forensic and law enforcement engagement, regulator communications and risk management. He works closely with Ashurst Perkins Coie’s Risk Advisory team on integrated cyber, privacy and data responses.

Geoff advises global digital platforms, technology innovators and major corporates on online safety regulation, AI and automated decision-making, consumer protection and the application of Australian requirements to global digital platforms. His AI work includes helping clients navigate emerging legal and regulatory issues for AI-enabled services, including privacy, safety, transparency and accountability. He also advises on new technology regulations, including on consumer data and critical infrastructure, the internet of things and smart energy technology. 

As part of his technology transactions practice, Geoff advises on major outsourcing and digital transformation projects, including cloud services, procurement. He also provides strategic advice on privacy risks, as well as data separation and migration activities, related to complex corporate transactions. His work includes major retail energy transformation projects, intelligent energy platforms and providing data and privacy advice on major corporate transactions across various sectors.
