Geoff Gishubl

Geoff Gishubl is a partner based in Perth and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Ashurst Perkins Coie, alongside Roger Wilkes. He is a member of our Global Leadership Team.

As Co-COO, Geoff is responsible for the unification and transformation of Business Services — spanning the firm's technology, operations, and service delivery functions — as artificial intelligence and evolving technologies reshape how professional services are delivered. His focus is on ensuring the firm's operational platform supports strategic growth and a consistently excellent client experience.

Prior to his operational leadership roles, Geoff practised for more than 30 years in resources, projects, and environmental law, with a particular focus on native title, land access, and heritage matters. He has held senior practice leadership positions at the firm across its projects, real estate, and corporate groups.

Ranked by Chambers and Partners for over 15 years as an Eminent Practitioner and Band 1 leading individual, Geoff is recognized for his advice to proponents on complex native title issues. His clients include major Australian and international mining, energy, and infrastructure companies, as well as utilities, industry bodies, and government. He advised on Australia's first registered mining indigenous land use agreement and some of the country's most significant agreements between resource developers and First Nations peoples.
