Introduction
Frédéric combines deep renewables and infrastructure experience with over a decade on the ground in South East Asia, offering clients a multilingual, cross-cultural partner for complex project development and financing across the region.
Frédéric Draps focuses on project development and financing across the power and renewable energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure sectors. Based in Jakarta, he advises sponsors, lenders, government stakeholders and contractors on a wide range of projects and also brings extensive sector experience in advising on projects and energy related corporate transactions and disputes.
Frédéric has advised on large scale projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and has been focusing on South East Asian markets since relocating to the region in 2012. He is recognized as a knowledgeable practitioner in the field of renewable energy having led teams on the successful development and financing of projects across the entire spectrum of renewables technologies including solar, wind (onshore and offshore), hydro, geothermal, biomass, biogas and waste-to-energy. Other areas of focus of his practice involve downstream gas and LNG projects (regasification terminals, gas/LNG-to-power, pipelines), minerals processing facilities (smelters and refineries) as well as major transport infrastructure (airports, ports, rail and roads). Frédéric is a visiting lecturer at the University of Indonesia's Master of Legal Studies program teaching on Project Development and Finance. He is fluent in English, French, Dutch, Danish and Bahasa Indonesia.
