Eleanor Reeves leads the London Environment and Safety practice where she is noted for her ability to advise on the environmental aspects of transactions, including risk management and regulatory compliance concerns. She is particularly recognized for her sustainability work, and is ranked Band 1 in Chambers & Partners Environment & Climate Change, Leading Partner in Legal 500 Environment, and a thought leader for Environment & Climate Change in Lexology Index.

Her practice includes advising on legal risk management, incident response and crisis management, regulatory obligations and compliance, regulatory investigations and enforcement action. Eleanor regularly works with colleagues across our offices on real estate transactions, M&A, projects, restructuring and insolvency, finance and litigation matters. She is a member of the UK Environmental Law Association and the UK Health and Safety Lawyers Association.

  • Renewi | Advised on the divestment of its UK municipal business, comprising five long-term waste treatment contracts with local councils, to Biffa Limited.
  • Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) | Advising on the UK's carbon capture and hydrogen programs.
  • Infrastructure investors | Advising on environmental and safety-related regulatory matters in connection with investments in wind, solar, BESS and tidal projects.
  • Great British Energy - Nuclear | Advising in relation to supporting the UK Government's net zero targets and ambition to deploy up to 24 GW of civil nuclear by 2050.
  • PPL Corporation | Advised on its £7.8 billion sale of UK electricity group Western Power Distribution to National Grid.
  • UK companies | Advising on annual climate-related financial disclosures and sustainability reporting and on compliance with UK carbon emissions regulations including UK ETS (emissions trading regime) and ESOS (energy savings and opportunities regime).
  • Infrastructure company | Advised on conducting internal fact finding investigations, responding to regulatory investigations and submitting statutory appeals in relation to health and safety enforcement notices.
