Con has extensive experience in funds management and related transactions, acting in M&A superannuation transactions involving managed funds and financial service providers.

Con Tzerefos has comprehensive experience in financial services and commercial transactions. Con acts for local and offshore fund managers, trustees and other industry participants on all aspects of financial services regulation including licensing, regulation of foreign providers in Australia, establishment of funds, fund raising, investment management agreements, regulatory and compliance matters involving ASIC, and APRA regulation.

Con advises on the structuring of all forms of managed funds, including property and infrastructure funds, separately managed accounts, platforms and private equity funds, and drafting documentation for the establishment and management of registered and unregistered managed investment schemes. Con also advises on disclosure requirements for retail and wholesale offerings in due diligence investigations and assists with asset acquisitions, management and sales.

  • Nippon Life Insurance Company | Partner | 2024 | On its acquisition of the remaining interest of 20% in MLC Life from NAB for A$500 million; and its acquisition of Resolution Life for US$8.2 billion.
  • AIA Australia Limited | Lead Partner | 2024 | On the acquisition of the retail life insurance business from Integrity Life Australia Limited pursuant to a scheme under Part 9 of the Life Insurance Act.
