Introduction
Christopher represents technology companies in AI product development and data center infrastructure, innovative energy technology, software and technology licensing, and commercialization arrangements.
Christopher A. Wieman advises clients in the robotics and automation industries, as well as providers in renewable energy, cloud computing, and infrastructure development. He drafts and negotiates agreements covering data center procurement, energy supply and renewable energy certificates, model codevelopment collaborations, inbound and outbound model licensing, and AI-centric product integrations.
Chris also represents providers and buyers of web-based products and services in software as a service, infrastructure as a service, and platform as a service transactions. He assists companies with negotiating and structuring complex services and outsourcing arrangements. He also supports M&A transactions, with a focus on addressing IP terms and issues, managing complex due diligence, and negotiating purchase and sale agreements.
As co-lead of the Clean Tech industry group, Chris focuses on innovative technologies and expanding energy capacity to meet growing energy demand. He supports companies ranging from startups to large public companies, including strategic joint ventures, across a wide range of industries. He guides clients through the product life cycle and helps protect critical IP during product development, component procurement, inbound rights licensing, and the development and execution of monetization strategies.
Chris also maintains an active pro bono practice. He worked with Illinois-based organizations to develop an app that provides legal information and assistance to tenants facing rental or landlord issues. He also supported a nationwide nonprofit with a web-based platform designed to expedite the solar permitting process. In addition, Chris works with a nonprofit festival in Seattle on its contracts, sponsorship agreements, and employment documents.
