Chris Campbell is a partner in our projects and energy transition practice. His practice focuses on energy and resources projects, major infrastructure projects and property developments. He has experience across multiple jurisdictions including Australia, the UK and Middle East.

Chris acts for owners, developers, contractors, suppliers, investors and government clients on the procurement, development and operation of a wide variety of projects. He has extensive experience advising clients on project structuring and delivery across a broad range of contracting models including EPC Contracts, PPP projects, early contractor involvement, alliance agreements, and operation and maintenance agreements.

  • Department of Defense | Partner | 2022 to present | Advising the Department of Defense in connection with the Henderson Consolidation precinct, including tenure, commercial model and design contracting aspects of the project.
  • Western Australian Public Transport Authority | Lead Partner | 2022 to present | Advising PTA on various procurement matters, including:
    • the procurement or new rolling stock;
    • the establishment of framework arrangements to implement maintenance across existing rail infrastructure;
    • contracts for the provision of facilities management services across the Perth Metropolitan region; and
    • contracts for the provision of ferry services.
  • WA Water Corp | Lead Partner | 2020 to present | Advising Water Corp in relation to various projects, including:
    • expansion of water treatment and brine disposal infrastructure to facilitate the Perdaman Urea project;
    • the expansion of the Subiaco Water Treatment Plant; and
    • upgrades to the Perth desalination plant at Kwinana.
  • Australian Renewable Energy Hub | Partner | 2023 to present | Advising in connection with procurement aspects of the Australian Renewable Energy Hub.
  • Fortescue Energy | Lead Partner | 2023 / 24 | Advised in relation to the procurement and delivery of a green ammonia project and associated hydrogen processing facility, including EPC and FEED Contracts, project structuring and negotiations with ammonia technology providers and delivery contractors.
  • Coombes Property Group | Lead Partner | 2025 / 26 | Advised in connection with the delivery aspects of the Hunter St over station development (including ECI and D&C Contracts) being developed as part of Sydney Metro West.
  • Waldorf Astoria Sydney | Partner | 2022 to present | Advised Fiveight on the acquisition of the Waldorf Astoria, Sydney, which is currently being developed by Lendlease, including development agreement and ongoing delivery advice during construction.
  • Central Barangaroo | 2016 to 2018 | Advised the Grocon led consortium in relation to its bid for and the project documents in connection with the acquisition of the development rights for the Central Barangaroo project.
  • Pension Fund | Partner | 2019 to 2022 | Advising in connection with the Pitt Street Integrated Station Development, including negotiation of project delivery agreement with Sydney Metro, construction contract with CPB, negotiation of sell down arrangements with incoming investor and delivery advice.
