Charles-Douglas Fuz has broad corporate experience advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, capital raises and joint-venture arrangements. Charles-Douglas has built a strong track record acting for infrastructure funds, private equity sponsors and corporates across the full spectrum of energy and infrastructure asset classes.

Charles-Douglas is known for his ability to navigate the strategic, legal and regulatory complexities inherent to these industries, combining deep sector knowledge with a commercially minded and results-driven approach to deal execution. He regularly leads transactions involving competitive sale processes, structured investments and the establishment of joint-ventures. 

Charles-Douglas is French and American and is licensed to practice in Paris and New York, giving him a distinctive cross-border perspective and enabling him to advise seamlessly on transactions spanning European and U.S. markets.

  • Octopus Energy Generation (acting on behalf of the Sky fund), in connection with the acquisition of a 49,9% stake in a 107 MW portfolio of operational onshore  wind farms  located in France, from Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation. 
  • Enagás, on its agreement to acquire GIC's 31,5% stake in Teréga (a French gas infrastructure operator which operates approximately 5,100 km of gas pipelines and two underground storage facilities in southwestern France). 
  • Brookfield Asset Management, in connection with its agreement to acquire Boralex Inc (alongside La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) as part of a take-private transaction.
  • Octopus Energy Generation (on behalf of the Sky fund), in connection with the acquisition of OX2's French renewables business, including a pipeline of ~500MW of PV/Agri PV projects and a 15-person management team.
  • Octopus Energy Generation (on behalf of the OEDP fund), in connection with OEDP's investment in the expansion of FFNEV's development business in France. FFNEV (FF New Energy Ventures) is a Spanish-founded renewable energy developer.
  • White Summit Capital, in connection with its investment in Powesco (a French platform specialised in energy efficiency-as-a-service). 
  • Equitix managed funds, in connection with an investment (alongside Keppel Infrastructure Trust) in Enpal B.V., one of Europe's largest residential energy transition businesses. 
  • Renner Energies (fka Windvision), on the acquisition of a portfolio of French solar projects from ib vogt.
  • Skyborn Renewables, on its joint-venture with Vattenfall and Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations in connection with their bid to jointly develop, construct, finance and operate a 1 GW offshore wind farm in Normandy (as part of the 4th CRE tender);
  • Swiss Life Asset Management AG and Schroders Greencoat LLP as consortium on the purchase of Equans Urban Energy's district heating and cooling networks in the UK.
