Brian Johnson

Brian Johnson is an insurance recovery litigator and counselor who assists corporate policyholders in all phases of insurance coverage disputes involving a broad range of commercial insurance policies, including commercial general liability, directors and officers, property, errors and omissions, among others. He also assists clients with captive insurance programs in pursuing claims against reinsurers.

Brian counsels clients on insurance placement, coverage renewals, and policy terms and conditions across various lines of coverage. He also advises clients on insurance policies in corporate transactions, including cyber, directors and officers, and representations and warranties insurance. His experience includes drafting and negotiating non-reliance letters, non-binding indication letters, insurance policies, and insurance binders. 

Before joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, Brian served as lead associate on multiple insurance coverage litigations, overseeing all stages of discovery. He is skilled in preparing pleadings, requests for production, deposition notices, and motions. In addition to his litigation work, Brian counseled clients on placing representations and warranties insurance for corporate transactions, securing consistent, favorable terms across insurance towers that provided hundreds of millions of dollars in coverage.
