Aaron Poledna counsels emerging companies and investors in the medical device, digital health, and aerospace industries, guiding them from formation through funding, growth, and exit. He represents clients across the United States and globally in venture financings and strategic transactions, with recent experience involving hundreds of millions of dollars in venture capital and multibillion‑dollar acquisitions.

Aaron serves on the Global Leadership Team at Ashurst Perkins Coie and is firmwide Chair of the Intellectual Property Division. He advises on patent strategy and portfolio development, including prosecution, enforcement, licensing, and monetization. He helps clients position their portfolios, evaluate third‑party patents, and identify high‑value intellectual property assets for acquisition or commercialization.

His work spans a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, satellite and aerospace systems, digital health, semiconductor processing and fabrication, consumer electronics, cannabis-related products, financial services, and software. His extensive medical device experience includes cardiovascular and neurovascular systems, renal neuromodulation, robotic surgical platforms, imaging and monitoring technologies, ophthalmic and prosthetic devices, endovascular devices, and spinal implants. He also advises on design patents and industrial designs.

Aaron has a background in aerospace engineering. Prior to practicing law, he was a flight operations engineer at Boeing. He is active in life sciences industry organizations and leads community and pro bono initiatives in the Seattle office.
