Bob represents clients in copyright, trademark, and related IP matters.
Bob Clarida advises corporate and individual clients on copyright scope, ownership, and validity; contracts and licenses; electronic and internet rights; domestic and international copyright and trademark prosecution; fair use; statutory termination; and privacy and publicity rights.
His clients span the software, music, film, publishing, photography, visual arts, software, and database industries. He also provides alternative dispute resolution and expert witness services, and drafts amicus briefs for the Supreme Court of the United States and federal circuit courts.
Bob frequently speaks and writes on copyright issues. He authored the treatise, Copyright Law Deskbook (Bloomberg/BNA, 2009; second edition, 2016), and is a principal presenter of the annual review of copyright decisions for the Copyright Society.
Bob regularly coauthors a copyright law column in the New York Law Journal, has taught a seminar on emerging IP issues at Columbia Law School, and has chaired numerous committees for the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
