Introduction
Peter is a litigator with 20 years experience, from class actions to arbitration, and a widely published legal author.
Peter Sise is a litigation lawyer with two decades of experience across Australia and Japan. He has worked on a variety of disputes including class actions (both securities and product related), construction and property disputes, M&A litigation, regulatory proceedings, insolvency disputes, shareholder disputes, arbitration and disputes with government over licensing and revenue.
Peter has written numerous legal publications including the Unfair Contract Term Laws of Australia (LexisNexis 2026); has been an editor of the LexisNexis publication, Inhouse Counsel, since 2018; and was an author for Wolters Kluwer's trade practices commentary from 2017 to 2026. He has previously worked at leading law firms, Clayton Utz and Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, and as a secondee at the Business Council of Australia.

- Toyota diesel particulate filter class action | Represented Toyota in a class action concerning 264,170 vehicles with defective diesel particulate filter systems.
- Toyota emissions class action | Representing Toyota in a class action concerning diesel vehicles which allegedly do not comply with design rules.
- Tatts Group v State of Victoria | Represented Tatts Group in a claim for $540 million against the State of Victoria concerning the reform of the Victorian slot machine industry.*
- Myer Chadstone dispute | Represented Myer in a dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Court of Appeal over the payment of outgoings for a flag ship department store in the largest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.*
- Milfoil v Commonwealth Bank of Australia | Represented the Commonwealth Bank in a dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Court of Appeal concerning the collapse of a clothing wholesale during the GFC.*
- Sargon Group litigation | Acted for Westpac (a creditor) in a Federal Court proceeding concerning the collapsed Sargon Group securing a higher portion of assets for Westpac than any other creditor.*
- In the matter of Renex | Represented a shareholder in a long-running shareholder oppression dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Court of Appeal.*
- Otway Gas Plant | Represented Technip FMC in a dispute in the Supreme Court of Victoria over the construction of a gas processing plant.*
- Confidential arbitrations | Acted in confidential arbitrations concerning the development of major shopping centres and gas price determinations.*
- Regulatory proceedings | Acted for the respondents in Federal Court proceedings brought by the ACCC and ASIC.*
