Introduction
Katrin Ruhl (née Weixlgartner) is a Counsel in our global product litigation and product risk (safety and regulatory) practice, based in our Munich office and admitted to the German bar.
Katrin has focused on products law since the outset of her career, advising clients throughout the entire life cycle of their products. She advises on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters (EU and German law), administrative and consumer law issues, as well as criminal investigations. She also acts in all types of contentious matters. In particular, she defends clients against product liability claims and pursues recourse claims along the supply chain. She has acted in numerous high-profile product liability cases.
She is experienced in conducting recalls of consumer goods. She frequently coordinates recalls across 40+ jurisdictions. This includes communication with the competent market surveillance authorities. Her work goes hand in hand with crisis management. This minimizes damage to the client’s reputation in product liability matters. She also advises on FOI requests and other information requests.
She has extensive experience advising clients from various sectors on products law, in particular in relation to all types of consumer goods. The life sciences industry is a particular focus of hers. This includes pharmaceuticals, medical devices and lifestyle products. These matters often involve a complex technical and scientific background.
Katrin studied law at the University of Augsburg and was admitted to the German bar in 2017. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers 2026 as “One to Watch” for Product Liability.
