John is a pensions lawyer advising employers and trustees on corporate transactions, liability management, rail pensions, public sector schemes, and regulatory disputes.

John Gordon has been at Ashurst Perkins Coie for over nine years and has over 22 years' experience of advising employers and trustees on corporate transactions, reorganisations and mergers, as well as issues such as the equalisation of GMP benefits, funding negotiations, deficit reduction strategies, and discussions with the Pensions Regulator and the Pension Protection Fund.

John has advised corporates and trustees on liability management exercises, including buy-ins and buy-outs. He has extensive experience on rail pensions matters, and has advised numerous clients in relation to the Railways Pension Scheme. He has considerable experience advising in relation to public sector pension schemes including the Local Government Pension Scheme and the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme.
