Introduction
Johannes is a Senior Associate in our Corporate Transaction Practice, advising clients in private equity transactions, mergers & acquisitions, corporate law and joint ventures.
Dr Johannes Porsch is experienced in advising national and international clients on all aspects of private equity and M&A transactions, joint ventures and corporate law matters. He has a particular focus on the sectors infrastructure and healthcare.
Johannes studied law at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, where he later obtained his doctorate. He speaks German and English.
Before joining Ashurst Perkins Coie in 2026, Johannes spent more than eight years in the private equity practice of a magic circle firm.
Areas of focus
- InfraRed Capital Partners on the acquisition via InfraRed-managed funds of HectorRail, a private rail freight operator.
- A portfolio company of a financial investor on the acquisition of a human mobility business.*
- A state sovereign wealth fund on its investment in a German electricity grid operator.*
- A financial investor on the establishment of a joint venture, for the development of a data center platform in the Frankfurt Rhine Main region.*
- A financial investor on an investment in a parking business.*
- A financial investor on the acquisition of a leading manufacturer of eyewear and ophthalmic lenses.*
- A financial investor on the acquisition of a financial services company, several add-on acquisitions in Germany and Luxembourg, as well as several minority divestments, including on the sale of a substantial minority interest to another financial investor.*
- Société Générale on the sale of its truck and trailer rental business to a portfolio company of I Squared Capital.*
