Hannah Glass

Hannah Glass is a special counsel focusing on payments, fintech, blockchain technology and data. She advises a broad range of clients from start-ups and digital asset exchanges, to ASX 50 companies on current and emerging legal issues which arise from using innovative technologies in a complex regulatory environment.  

Hannah is at the forefront of the development of the legal framework for fintech in Australia.  She has worked with industry bodies and government on issues ranging from central bank digital currencies and regulatory sandboxes, to payments, the consumer data right and crypto-assets. Hannah is frequently invited to speak at prominent events and podcasts on these subjects. 

Hannah was previously a member of the Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources’ National Blockchain Roadmap Steering Committee and was chair of the Regtech Working Group which considered the application of blockchain to assist in meeting legal, regulatory and compliance obligations, across a broad range of use cases, such as provenance and financial services.

Hannah has been named as a "Rising Star" in the Legal500 for fintech and financial services regulatory, and “band 3” in Chambers and Partners FinTech Guide 2024, and had been listed since the guide’s inception.
