Introduction
Luke has over a decade of experience acting as dispute resolution counsel and combines deep local and industry knowledge with global experience to resolve our client's most challenging issues.
Luke practices in the resolution of disputes in the energy, resources, construction, infrastructure and technology sectors. His experience includes acting on high-value and complex disputes on some of the world's largest and most high-profile projects. He has worked across offices in Sydney, Perth, Singapore, Seoul, London and Dubai.
Luke has acted for parties in respect of litigation in the High Court of England and Wales, the High Court of Australia and the Supreme, Federal and inferior courts of Australia, as well as in respect of arbitrations (domestic, international and investor-state), mediations, expert determinations and adjudications. He also has significant experience acting as project counsel and in the utilization of alternative dispute resolution to avoid and minimize disputes. He is regularly engaged by clients as a strategic advisor.
In addition to his practice, Luke has published work in relation to international arbitration, international trade and investment law, construction law and alternative dispute resolution. He regularly speaks at conferences on these subjects too.
He has been named the "Young ADR Practitioner of the Year" at the Australian ADR Awards and listed as a "Rising Star" for Construction Law by Doyle's Guide.
Luke holds Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Master of Laws degrees. He is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia.

- International construction contractor | Acting for an international construction contractor in respect of an international arbitration concerning the construction of coal fired power plant in excess of US$300 million. (English and Indonesian law, Singapore seated, SIAC Rules).
- Renewable energy developer | Acting for a developer in respect of three international arbitrations concerning the construction of three energy-from-waste plants in excess of £300 million. (English law, London seated, ICC Rules)
- International construction contractor | Acting for an international construction contractor in respect of an adjudication concerning the construction of the world’s largest and most advanced radio telescope in excess of AU$20 million.
- Renewable energy developer | Acting for a developer in respect of an international arbitration concerning the construction of Australia's largest solar farm in excess of AU$60 million. (New South Wales law, Sydney seated, ACICA Rules).
- Stagecoach | Acting for a bidder in respect of a litigation concerning the procurement of the rail franchise for the operation of HS2 (one of the largest, most complex, procurement and commercial judicial review claims litigated in the United Kingdom to date): 2019 Rail Franchising Litigation [2020] EWHC 1568 (TCC).
- Political risk insurers | Acting for a group of political risk insurers in respect of an investment treaty arbitration and a litigation concerning the alleged expropriation of investments in Thailand in excess of US$900 million.
- Sydney Metro | Acting as project counsel for the Sydney Metro rail infrastructure project.
- Snowy Hydro | Acting as project counsel for the Snowy 2.0 hydropower project.
