Introduction

Colton advises technology companies—from startups to multinationals—on corporate, commercial, and IP transactions, including M&As, joint ventures, technology transfer, and venture capital deals.

Prior to joining Ashurst Perkins Coie, Colton Carothers was in-house counsel for a global social media and networking platform, where he led complex technology transactions for the company's augmented reality and virtual reality division. His work included structuring and negotiating agreements with industry-leading research and development partners, component suppliers, and academic institutions. 

Colton has experience with transactions involving businesses and operations in French-speaking countries and currently serves as the outside counsel to the French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest. 

He maintains an active pro bono practice, providing legal services to nonprofit arts entities.
